Xiaomi isn’t just standing by, watching as Apple and Samsung pit their best foldable phones against each other this year. We’ve found some leaked images today that basically gave us the front view of the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. We were actually surprised at what we saw.
The leak was posted by Panda is Bald on Weibo, but it was taken down. The brand must’ve swooped in to save its secret. But the remnants live on. The images had a front view of Mix Fold 5, and guess what? Xiaomi has also made its foldable wider/compact like Samsung’s Z Fold 8, or iPhone Ultra.
This is being called the ideal size format for foldables by experts, so we do understand why Xiaomi is also leaning into the wider design. By the way, another change has been made here. Mix Fold 4 had sharp 90° corners, but the Mix Fold 5 has rounded ones. In this article, you can find the latest Xiaomi rate list with updated prices for all major models.
The newcomer’s selfie camera is pushed to the right corner. It was actually on the left corner on the Mix Fold 4. That has to do with the orientation of the phone, probably, and how it’s intended to be used vertically. People will be using it sideways every once in a while.
The UI on this phone is actually Hyper OS 4, the leaker says. You can see those Liquid Glass notifications at the center. Apple fans may like the appeal. They have some depth effect going on the wallpaper and clock widget. These aren’t the only images we’ve seen of the Hyper OS 4 Android 17.
There are actually a bunch of promotional screenshots on the web, taken on normal slab phones. They’ve been teasing Super Xiao Ai expert mode. And there’s a new and very convenient device management center here to control all your gadgets in one place. We’ll let you know when we find more details about the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5. Keep watching the news for more updates.
