Xiaomi Mix Flip 2 was recently launched in China, and it immediately went on sale in the region. Digital Chat Station is among the first enthusiasts to publicly share some hands-on photos of the flip device. We’ve also come across some important details about its hardware. This is everything you need to know about this newcomer.
The Mix Flip 2 keeps the original shape and look, except for the new chequered finish on the back. Its cover screen is still the same 4” full-size AMOLED panel with two lenses popping out of it. The cover display’s UI is optimized to work around those lenses and integrate apps without interrupting the view.
It seems the leaker tested the Xiaomi Mix Flip 2’s cover screen with 810 nits brightness under direct sunlight, so the readability won’t be an issue. Oppo officially advertised 3200 nits brightness for it, but it won’t go as high unless you are watching HDR10+ content or something similar.
Its inner screen has the same 3200 nits brightness. Both of its screens can do a 120Hz refresh rate. The main LTPO AMOLED screen has been stretched by a small amount to a 6.86” size, and it’s also slightly more sensitive this year at a 300Hz touch rate. Sadly, the outer screen of the Xiaomi new folding phone only gets a 120Hz touch response.
As we suspected, the Flip 2 is a pure flagship phone with its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. There’s even a dual vapor cooling chamber within it for temperature control. The battery capacity has also gone up from last year’s 4780mAh to a much better 5165mAh.
Not only did the 67W fast charging reappear inside the Mix Flip 2, but they also gave it 50W wireless charging support this time around. The camera setup may have gotten a downgrade, though, as it returns to a simpler 50MP Main camera and 50MP ultrawide camera approach. It doesn’t have an optical zoom sensor anymore.
The selfie sensor here is a 32MP unit, and it can do 4k 60FPS recording. Also, it comes with Android 15 out of the box with Hyper OS 2 on top of it. It connects to WiFi 7 networks, there’s an NFC chip built in, an Infrared remote, and a fingerprint reader on the side. The base 12/256GB Mix Flip 2 variant starts at CNY 5,999 (~PKR 237,000), which is a steal compared to some other clamshell releases in 2025.
