Vivo Y29t 5G is the latest one to join the company’s ever-growing series. After the vanilla Y29 5G, Y29 4G, and Y29s 5G, this is the fourth member in the group with nearly identical specs. Its design is borrowed from the “S” variant, but it does seem to offer a larger battery. Here’s what we know about this device.

It brings a traditional notch-style IPS display with a 720p resolution and a 6.74” size. The refresh rate on this screen is locked at 90Hz and the brightness peaks at 570 nits. Although it has decent visuals and buttery smooth animations, it doesn’t get bright enough to provide decent readability under the sun.

The durability is on point with the Vivo Y29t. It has been certified SGS Five-star military-grade shock resistant, which means it’s safe from drops up to a certain height. Then, we have an IP64 water and dust resistance to keep the device safe from the elements.

Vivo Y29t brings a 50 MP Main shooter and a 0.08 MP auxiliary lens with a Flash LED for assistance. The selfie camera on the front is a 5 MP sensor hidden behind a U-notch. This Vivo budget new mobile uses the latest Funtouch OS 15, Vivo’s custom UI layered on top of the Android 15 OS.

There’s an entry-level Dimensity 6300 chip inside this phone, which is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. The original Vivo Y29s had a 5500mAh battery in the global market. But the Vivo Y29t steps it up with a 6000mAh backup and the same 15W fast charging.

The newcomer has dual-band WiFi and a fingerprint reader on the side. It includes an SD card slot to expand the storage and a dual-speaker setup for surround audio. The Vivo Y29t even brings a 3.5mm audio port, not to mention an NFC kit for contactless payments.

Vivo Y29t 5G has been released in Malaysia with a starting price of 1,099 MYR (~PKR 73,000). Its color options are limited to Titanium Gold and Jade Green. There’s no word on its availability outside Malaysia, but we’ll let you know as soon as it hits another country. Stay tuned for more updates.
