After the Vivo Y19e and Y19s, the company has taken the budget lineup a step further by adding a 5G-capable Vivo Y19 to the family with a Dimensity 6300 chip and a 720p display. The phone was released in an overseas market today, unveiling all its specs, AI features, and price tag. Here’s everything we know about Vivo Y19 5G.
Vivo Y19 5G doesn’t stand out much when it comes to the display. It’s an IPS 6.74” panel with a standard HD+ resolution. That gives you only 720 x 1600 pixels and around 260 ppi density to work with. It does, however, bring a fairly modern 90Hz refresh rate for smooth animations and visuals.
Of course, the star of the show is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip inside the Vivo Y19 5G. This is an 8-core SoC with a 2.4GHz clock speed and should provide a decent user experience on par with most midrange phones. Vivo’s FunTouch OS 15 is also quite light and optimized, so the UI will mostly be stutter-free.
Vivo Y19 5G’s design is modern, but the camera isn’t. The sensor used on the back is a 13 MP Main unit coupled with a 0.08 MP assistance lens. It gets even more underwhelming with a low-resolution 5MP selfie camera on the front. It’s safe to assume that the latest 5G Vivo mobile only targets users who prefer performance and connectivity over everything else.
There’s a 5500mAh battery inside this new device, which is generous, but a 15W charging support is not ideal for its price category. Nevertheless, that battery will last you years without significant health loss, as Vivo promises 80% life retention after 1600 full cycles.
Vivo Y19 5G is also pretty durable, thanks to TUV’s IP64 rating against minor water splashes and dust ingress. We have a side fingerprint reader here and expandable RAM/storage options. The phone’s base variant is 4/64GB, and the higher-end option comes with 6/128GB memory.
This handset comes with an Android 15 x FunTouch OS 15 system out of the box and packs the AI Erase function, AI Photo Enhance, AI Documents, and a bunch more options as part of its AI suite. Vivo Y19 5G gives you Titanium Silver or Majestic Green colors, and its price starts at ~$125 or PKR 35,000.
