The smartphone industry has witnessed a surge in the popularity of foldable devices in recent years, despite their premium price tags. Tecno, a contender in this arena, made a notable entry earlier this year with its novelty folding device, Phantom V Fold. Priced at nearly half the cost of competitors like the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Tecno's foldable disrupted the market dynamics, and now, there’s a new competitor on its way.

Soon, the company is poised to introduce its next innovation: the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G, a mid-range flip phone aiming to target the budget-droid market. Renowned leak source Paras Guglani provides a sneak peek into the device, showcasing rendered images and revealing key specifications.

The design of this device stands out with a distinctive twist on the cover display concept. Unlike the traditional separation of cameras and the screen, Tecno has opted for an integrated circular cover-screen, encompassed by a camera ring, enhancing its visual appeal.

Leaked details shed light on the Phantom V Flip 5G's specifications. Its rear dual-camera setup comprises 64MP AF + 13MP sensors, while the front houses a 32MP camera. The external display boasts a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel with 466×466 resolution, while the expansive internal screen spans 6.9 inches with 1080×2640 resolution. The Tecno rate list unveils a world of possibilities, showcasing their commitment to innovation and affordability.

Under the hood, a MediaTek Dimensity 8050 chipset is expected, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Identical to its Tab-foldable counterpart, the Phantom V Flip 5G adopts a dual-battery configuration – 1165mAh and 2735mAh, potentially marketed as a combined 4000mAh capacity.

The device will debut with Android 13 out of the box, available in color options like Minimal Black, Film White, and Periwinkle Purple. It’s also receiving support from over 15 5G-network carriers. After the purported teasers due next month, the device will officially launch in October.
