Korean Giants’s latest offering, the Galaxy A20s has finally been announced globally after being unveiled at a launch event in Malaysia. The newest addition to the A-series family appeared on TENNAs listings alongside its raw spec sheet and first renders, almost a month ago.

Prior to the leaks, the rumors surfaced that Samsung is planning on revamping the original Samsung A20 with a handful of hardware upgrades. The rumors have now been confirmed and the refreshed mid-ranger does, in fact, have some new tricks up its sleeve.

In addition to the A20, other members of the A-series, namely Samsung Galaxy A30 and A50 will also be getting upgrades. The dual-sim A20s runs Android Pie (9.0) right out of the box, layered with Samsung’s One UI. It draws power from the generous 4000 mAh battery which is a major improvement over the 3400 mAh battery which sits on the A20.

You get the same support for 15W fast-charging, however, there’s an upgrade in terms of the SoC performance. Samsung Galaxy A20s ships with a Snapdragon 450 chipset, as opposed to the Exynos 7884 chip which the A20 rocked.

There’s a slight improvement or a downgrade in the Samsung A20s design, depending on how you look at it. The new display is 6.5 inches, unlike the original 6.4-inch screen. That said, the screen is an IPS LCD panel, which is a downgrade from the original Super AMOLED display. So if you’re switching from A20, you might notice that the blacks aren’t as deep and the contrasts aren’t as apparent. However, the chin, side bezels, and the notch seem to have shrunken a little.

As for the optics package on Galaxy A20s, you’re now looking at a triple-camera setup – with a 13MP+8MP+5MP configuration. The phone retains the memory configuration of 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of native storage and up to 512 GB of expandable storage. The back panel is currently being offered in four glossy colors: Black, Blue, Green, and Red.

The handset is rumored to arrive soon along with the other members of the A series including Samsung A50s but We have yet to get an official word on as to when the phone will be released in Pakistan. However, the expected price might be the same as the Galaxy A20 from last year at 29,000 PKR.
