Redmi 15 5G Leak Uncovers 7000mAh Battery, 144Hz Screen & Upgraded Chipset

Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G has been spotted in yet another leak today. A tipster on X/Twitter shared images of what seems to be promo material and a comparison chart of the phone against other midrange devices in the price segment. The leak also spills Redmi 15 5G’s design, colors, memory trim, and the expected cost. Here’s a brief overview.

This phone will bring some major upgrades over its previous iteration. One of the highlights you can see in the images is a massive 7000mAh battery inside the Redmi 15. There are no other devices in the comparison table with such a huge power pack.

Not only does it have one of the best batteries in its price bracket, but it also brings the fastest refresh rate. Apparently, the Redmi 15 5G is built around a 6.9” screen with a 1080p resolution and the lineup’s first-ever 144Hz panel. The precursor, Redmi 13 5G, pales in comparison with a smaller 120Hz IPS and a 5030mAh battery.

The Xiaomi's latest budget mobile is also better protected from water and dust ingress. Xiaomi has upgraded it from a measly IP53 to a proper IP64 rating, which is completely dustproof and able to withstand minor water splashes. Of course, the phone has some performance upgrades to show off as well.

If the given details prove accurate, the new Redmi 15 5G is probably due for a Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip, which is much better than the Snapdragon 4 series chip from the previous year. It’s a 6nm platform, and the company might pair it with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows, as there’s a bit of a downgrade to expect in the camera category. Looking at the table, the Redmi 15 5G seems to bring a 50MP (Main) + 2MP (assistive) lens setup on the back with only an 8MP selfie camera. The parent Redmi 13 5G used a 108MP Main and 13MP shooter on the front.

The charging speeds remain the same over generations at 33W, but a single charge will now hold for up to 2 days thanks to the 7000mAh battery. There’s also an NFC chip inside the phone and likely a Hyper OS 2.0 interface. Redmi 15 5G’s cost might range between $165 and $177. Xiaomi launched the Redmi 13 in July last year, which means the newcomer is right around the corner. Stay tuned for further updates.
