Digital Chat Station exposed the camera details of what could be the new Realme 17 Pro Plus. Their 17 series should arrive in the second half of 2026. The safest bet would be a July launch, because that’s when the Realme 15 Pro was released in 2025. And that’s exactly when the six-month cycle ends for the new Realme 16 Pro+.
The leaker didn’t say anything about the launch or even mention the phone’s title. The news media helped us fill the blanks. And all the clues we found scream Realme 17 Pro Plus. Anyway, the leaked details were strictly about the cameras and display.
Apparently, the handset design is finalized. This means Realme is right on schedule. We could see this device in a few months. Again, a July launch is a possibility. DCS called the phone’s screen excellent, which is a vague detail. We assume it’s an OLED panel, very similar to the older Realme 16 Pro+.
A 200MP HP5 main camera will reappear on the Realme latest 5G mobile. It may be legit, since the Realme 16 Pro+ has the same sensor. The newcomer even plans for an identical Samsung JN5 50MP periscope lens. It’s supposed to zoom 3.5X optically.
There was nothing else to extract from the leak. But it sounds like Realme 17 Pro+ and 16 Pro+ will have plenty in common. There is a 6.8” 1.5K AMOLED on the current version. And the screen is clocked at 144Hz. The CPU on this handset is actually a sub-flagship Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC.
Realme 16 Pro+ kicked off with Android 16, but they’ve planned at least 5 years of major Android updates in the EU and 3 OS updates for other markets, which is more than we had hoped. Its selfie camera is 50MP, and the rear cameras are 8MP ultrawide, 50MP telephoto, and 200MP main units.
A big 7,000 mAh Si/C battery gives backup. The cell plugs into an 80W wired charging kit. It’s not exactly a flagship phone, which is why it skipped the wireless charging. Only six months of R&D is too short to expect huge upgrades from the Realme 17 Pro+. Any potential changes will appear in leaks. Better keep an eye on the news for updates.
