Poco X8 Pro Series Teaser Reveals Powerful Chipsets, Hinting at Flagship Performance

Poco began teasing the X8 Pro series a few days ago. They started by mocking the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup and convincing fans to wait for better options. And now they’ve revealed the chipsets installed on each phone. The company is almost ready to unveil the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max

We already suspected Poco would bring Dimensity 8500 Ultra and Dimensity 9500S chipsets to these phones. The X8 Pro and Pro Max are basically rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max. So they have identical specs, sans the battery, which is usually downgraded on global Poco versions.

Anyway, Dimensity 8500 is a semi-flagship SoC. Xiaomi's latest Poco mobile is built on a 4nm octacore architecture of all power cores. The boost clock is 3.4 GHz, so it’s edging the flagship speeds. Nanoreviews actually rates this chip better than the Tensor G5 from the Google Pixel 10 series.

Dimensity 9500s is even better, just one level ahead of the D8500. This is actually a cut-down version of the standard D9500, so it has all the new technologies, but a lower boost clock of 3.73 GHz. Mali-G925 Immortalis MP12 iGPU should perform the same, even if it’s an S variant chip.

That’s all the company wrote in the teaser. These phones, being the rebranded Redmi Turbo devices, helped fill in the gaps for the remaining specs. Expect the Poco X8 Pro to debut with a Dolby Vision/HDR10+ rated 6.59” AMOLED that hits 120Hz refresh rate.

The panel will be 1.5K resolution with almost 3,500 nits (peak) brightness. There is possibly an Aluminium frame on the Poco X8 Pro and an IP69K rating. Its camera setup should be 20MP (selfie), 50MP (main), and 8MP (Ultrawide). The rear cameras do 4K@60fps recording.

The X8 Pro Max is the global alternative to the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Specs-wise, this should include a 6.83” AMOLED that runs at 120Hz with 3,500 nits peak brightness. Pro and Pro Max have the same camera setup, by the way. It should retain the IP69K rating and metal build. The X8 Pro Max is supposed to have a larger battery and a faster chipset.
