The leaks were true. The company has officially announced that it will launch the Poco X8 Pro series on March 17th. That’s happening on Tuesday next week at 8 PM Beijing time. They posted the details on the PocoGlobal X account. We have consolidated all the publicly available information about the Poco X8 series in this brief report.

It has been confirmed that the Poco X8 series launch event is due on March 17th. They’ll run a live stream for every region. The post says 20:00 GMT +8, which is actually 5 PM in Pakistan local time. This launch event is going to be streamed on Mi.com. Now you have the time, date, and site.
The event is taglined Speed to the Max. They haven’t really named the devices in any of those teasers. But we do know the series has at least a Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max. The word “Max” in their tagline is a possible hint, but let’s just wait for confirmation.
By the way, Poco already gave up the chip names used on the two phones way ahead of launch. The teaser said Dimensity 8500 Ultra, which we assume is used on the X8 Pro. There’s also a Dimensity 9500s chip. That one is likely installed on the Poco X8 Pro Max.

If it wasn’t obvious from all the leaks we’ve covered, these phones are actually rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 devices. That fact helps us narrow down the remaining specs. Expect the Poco X8 Pro to be the same as the Chinese Redmi Turbo 5 with a Dolby Vision/HDR10+ rated 6.59” AMOLED that hits 120Hz refresh rate.

That screen should have 3,500 nits of brightness, and its resolution will be 1.5K. There is possibly an Aluminium frame on the Poco X8 Pro and an IP69K rating. Its camera setup should be 20MP Selfie, 50MP Primary, and 8MP Ultrawide. 4K@60fps recording is only supported on the rear side.
Redmi Turbo 5 Max is getting rebranded as the Poco X8 Pro Max. That’s why the screen will be a 6.83” AMOLED that runs at 120Hz with 3,500 nits peak brightness. There’s a 50MP main and 8MP Ultrawide camera. It should retain the IP69K rating and metal build. The X8 Pro Max will use an 8,500 mAh battery, which is larger than the X8 Pro’s 6,500 mAh pack.
