OPPO Find N2 Fold Tipped with Ultra-Lightweight Chassis; Could Weigh Less than iPhone 14 Pro Max

Despite all the innovations, tablet-to-phone Foldables lack the convenience traditional slab-form smartphones provide. People find extra heft and bulkiness unappealing, which is the leading cause of downward spiraling foldable sales in 2022.

Find N2, Oppo's upcoming foldable flagship might shift the trend since its folding chassis is now said to be relatively lightweight. In the latest report, the ever-reliable tipster Ice Universe breaks the news by saying that the upcoming tablet-to-phone device by Oppo will weigh less than 240 grams or 15% less than last year's Oppo foldable.

The tipster compares OPPO Find N2's weight with the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which clocks in at a whopping 240Grams of heft. That comparison goes for rival foldable lines as well. N2's new build might leap forward, leaving behind Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Huawei Mate X2, Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, Vivo X Fold+ folders, and some traditional slab phones like iPhone 13 Pro Max, ASUS ROG 6D Ultimate, etc.

Nothing yet on the OPPO smartphone's price but according to Ice, the lightweight build might have something to do with the new material Oppo plans to adopt. That concludes the latest tip from rumor-verse. In a former exposé, Oppo Find N2 got leaked with in-settings screenshots denuding its key selling features.

Allegedly, the Find N2's cover display will be 5.5 inches with 120Hz refresh, and its interior folding display will be 7.1 inches. In core hardware, users will find a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip running the device. Though the CPU option is a few months old, it might be more cost-effective.

There's still no official word on N2's price or launch date. Among the key features, N2 embodies an Oppo-manufactured MariSilicon X image-processing chip that has the potential to take night photos and videography to the next level. The initial launch will expectedly limit the deployment to China only. Until the official claim, predicting whether the phone will set sales outside the home market is a tough nut to crack.
