Oppo A9 2020 was released in September 2019 at 45,666 PKR and got its price slashed for the very first time in December 2019 where it went straight down to 42,999 in just 3 months. Now the handset has just gotten another attractive price cut. The phone that was initially retailing for 42,999 PKR will now be available 39,999 PKR, which makes for a 3,000 PKR discount.
To recall, the Oppo A9 2020 is a solid budget offering, exceeding expectations. The design here is one of the better looks has Oppo come up with at least recently. You get an S-shaped pattern printed on a glossy duo-tone gradient. The centered quad-camera flanks an LED flash and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The faux-glass panel itself curves towards the edges for a more ergonomic grip.
On the front sits a 6.5-inch screen that produces an HD+ resolution. However, Oppo mobile's color reproduction looks crummy. The chin is a tad heavier than we’d like, but the side-bezels have been shaved close to the edges. The forehead is paper-thin save for the drop-notch that extends into the screen. Inside the notch is embedded a 16-megapixel front-facing selfie camera.
Speaking of cameras, the primary shooter of the A9 2020 is a 48-megapixel sensor, paired with an ultrawide 8-megapixel cam, 2-megapixel depth, and B/W sensors. The modules allow for decent, detailed shots, especially for low-light photography.
As for performance, you’re looking at a Snapdragon 665 chipset with an octa-core processor baked into it. Also, part of the SoC are 4GB/8GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard UFS 2.1 storage. However, only the 8 GB edition is eligible for the price cut. There’s also a dedicated slot for microSD card expandability.
The new Oppo A9 is powered by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W rapid charging as well as reverse charging options. The fast charging capabilities could have been a hair better since they fall into the lower end of the spectrum.
