Oppo A5i arrived in Pakistan two months ago, but it only offered 64GB of storage in the opening round. Today, the company has expanded the options, and now, you can also buy a 4/128GB memory trim in the local market. Of course, the Oppo A5i keeps the same specs as the original. However, the upgraded storage costs Rs 4,000 more.
This newcomer has an IPS 6.67” display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a mediocre HD+ 720p resolution. It gets decently bright, though, at 1000 nits HBM. The anti-glare coating makes the brightness even more effective. Expect visibility to be top-notch under direct sunlight.
This device is built around a Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chip, which is basically a rehashed Snapdragon 662 with modern features. There’s a 2.1GHz boost clock speed and an Adreno 610 GPU on the die to power your gaming sessions. Oppo has paired that chip with 4 GB of physical RAM. They guarantee 36 months of fluency on this device.
This Oppo latest budget mobile is dual-reinforced, per the brand’s advertisement. It has Panda glass on the front, and Oppo got it certified by SGS with the MIL-STD-810H rating, which means it’s shockproof. Also, the A5i has an IP54 water and dustproof build.
Even though Oppo A5i is an affordable phone, its design is quite premium and thin at 7.68mm. The battery is a bit small at 5100mAh, but at the price this device has launched for, that’s perfectly reasonable. Also, the A5i has ultra-fast 45W charging, which is hard to find in the segment.
Oppo A5i did cheap out on the camera side, so be warned. The phone only has a single 8MP unit on the back. Flip it over, and you see a basic 5MP front camera in the centered punch hole. AI Portrait Retouching should help with the picture quality.
This handset has both fingerprint ID and face recognition, as well as Bluetooth 5, WiFi 5, and expandable storage as essential features. Sadly, it doesn’t offer NFC or stereo speakers. The new Oppo A5i memory trim with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage is officially priced at Rs 31,999.
