Nokia G50 is an upcoming phone from HMD Global’s new mid-range G series. The specs and early previews of the Nokia G20 sibling have already been leaked online. We now have the pricing and launch timeline to report, courtesy of the source that published the previous leak.

The European publication WinFuture.de first outed the product images and details. Roland Quandt of WinFuture now follows up on this report with high-res press images. The design of this new Nokia phone is just as played out as ever, even in its color palette. Nokia G50 5G is offered in Ocean Blue and Midnight Sun.

The shell is curved with soft edges and a raised, round camera housing. Nokia G50 5G weighs 190g and measures 8.8mm in depth. Three lenses and an LED flash occupy this platform. We’re looking at a cluster of 48MP wide, a 5MP ultra-wide, and 2MP portrait lenses.

Flip the G50 over to find an 8MP front camera living in its notch. Surrounding the notch of Nokia's new model for 2021 is an oversized 6.82” IPS LCD. It delivers a 720P resolution, presumably at a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

The chin flanking this panel has the ‘Nokia’ branding stamped on it. For convenient unlocking, the fingerprint scanner is merged with the power button. The G50 frame also includes a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB-C port.

Inside the Nokia G50, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 is crunching the numbers. It’s a budget-first 5G chip that works with 4GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage. Its 4850 mAh battery and the Android11 OS power the hardware. HMD Global promises two years of OS upgrades and three years of security patches. The phone is priced between 259 and 269 euros (~ Rs. 53,400.) And reportedly debuts later this month.
