They plan to bring back the Motorola One series from the good old days of early 2018. That lineup spun into a whole group of devices, and they kept making new ones till 2021. They’ve apparently made a new phone called “Motorola Moto One” that harkens back to the original series.
This new rehash now has a formal listing on the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) database. XT2771-1 seems to be the model code on that listing for the Moto One. We saw its design in the filing. They had renders of this phone from every possible angle.
The WPC file also had its exact wireless charging specs. Motorola Moto new model will end up with Qi wireless input. That’s usually without magnets. It will be a 15W charging coil. We have to add here that the phone did not get an official nod from Motorola, and the suggested name might be a placeholder.
It should be clear from the design that it’s a flagship build. And if that didn’t convince you. Well, the specs might. We’ve seen the same model code in the Geekbench database, and Moto seems to use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip on the platform’s test.
It wasn’t just a single entry either. The same Moto One was found on four separate instances in the Geekbench directory. And each one had separate test results. The best it managed to do was a 2109 score (single) and 7475 points in the multicore test run.
By the way, the exact Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip is used on the Moto X70 Ultra too. But that model had 2634 (single) and 7,475 (multi) core results. Well, the baseline is not great for the Moto One, but we assume these are early tests from a prototype.
Anyway, the same listing told us that the Moto One (XT2771-1) is going to end up with 12GB RAM. Again, this is a flagship phone, and that’s standard memory in the class. The newcomer’s actually built around Android 16 OS with Moto’s Hello UI. Keep watching the news for more updates.
