Honor X6d’s belated expansion into the Middle East has finally happened after we spotted a store listing at the start of this month. The specs and features were already public knowledge, but now we can add the word “official” to its spec sheet. Here’s everything we know.
The phone itself isn’t new at all. It’s just a rebranded Honor Play 60A 5G that has already been scaling the global market since December. The only thing that’s different between the two is actually the camera. This X6d version has a 50MP main unit. The original used a 13MP outsole.
It still can’t push the video recording past 1080p 30FPS, even though its chipset is rated for at least 2K 60 FPS recording. Honor X6d is a 5G device and runs a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip. That’s the bare minimum standard to get 5G support on a device these days.
The RAM on this newcomer is 6GB, but it’s oddly paired with 256GB storage. The Honor new 5G model does have a few perks. By the way, the handset is given a 5,260 mAh battery. The Play 60A, on the other hand, used a 5,300 mAh cell. That difference is so small that you can disregard it entirely. It might just be the same battery with a different label.
We know that the device’s charging speed is 15W, borrowed from the original. There’s nothing different about the display either. It’s still built around a 6.75” TFT LCD with HD+ resolution. The refresh rate is 90Hz. A fingerprint reader is given on the side.
You can put two SIMs on the Honor X6d, and both slots support 5G carriers. The phone looks familiar if you’ve ever come across the Play 60A 5G with only 7.89mm thickness. The WiFi is dual-band 5GHz, and the Bluetooth card is version 5.3.
We also learned that the phone has NFC. But not for all the versions. Its 5MP selfie shooter is serviceable at best. It can also do 1080p videos. The starter cost of the Honor X6d is around $150 (~PKR 41,000). We are talking 4GB RAM and 128GB base storage here. It’s not the least expensive 5G device we’ve seen, but the Honor X6d is still quite affordable.
