ZTE will soon deploy a new gaming phone to the Pakistani market. No, it’s not a RedMagic device. It’s actually from a separate category altogether. Their new ZTE Nubia Neo 5 Max is actually a midrange gaming phone with the size of a tablet. All its details are now on the official ZTE page, by the way.
There wasn’t an exact launch date on the site, but it does say coming soon. No price tag is given either. But Nubia Neo 5 Max is meant to be an affordable gaming phone above all. Its battery is pretty huge. And the performance coming from its Dimensity 7100 should be decent enough.
Nubia Neo 5 Max got its gaming phone status mostly for its design. Again, it’s not a flagship device, but a cheap gaming phone with the Dimensity 7100 SoC and a large cooling chamber for heat control. The backplate is mostly solid, but a chunk of it is transparent. It even has RGB.
Nubia Neo 5 Max is technically a phone, but it’s very close to the fablet category. They officially call it the Padphone. It’s a giant handset like none other. They’ve put a large 7.5” IPS LCD on it. It’s 1.5K resolution, and the pixels are pushed at 120Hz. It will hit 1000nits on adaptive settings.
It’s a gaming phone, so you get shoulder triggers on the frame. There are two of them on the side at a 990 Hz polling rate. And we have a fingerprint reader and a volume rocker on the opposite edge. You’ll do gaming on the Mali-G610 MC2 iGPU that’s part of the D7100 SoC.
Not that the SoC runs hot in the first place, but sustained load would require cooling. That’s where the VC cooling kicks in. The VC chamber actually covers 30,000 mm² of the phone’s surface area. So it dumps heat outward from the mainboard and the battery.
The RAM is 8GB LPDDR5X (5500MT/s), apparently. A 50MP main camera on the back and a 16MP selfie camera record 1080p 30 FPS videos. Of course, Nubia Neo 5 Max has stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos as well. They’ve put a huge 7100mAh battery on the phone with a 45W charging kit.
