Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will spawn some exclusive versions outside the home market. They want to release one in China too, under the tag “W27”. This newcomer will debut tomorrow, by the way (October 29th). They stylized it with Gold accents and a Blue Shade, but it’s all Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra on the inside.
Evan Blass gave us the last-second preview in his new leak for the so-called Samsung W27. Again, it’s basically a blue-finish Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with gold trim, so it looks a bit luxurious. There’s a gold monogram on the back. That logo actually reads W series.
The image we found today shows the phone from all angles. It’s pretty much a 180 preview. The only missing angles were the top and bottom, but we already know what’s there. You can just look up the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra to fill the gaps.
There’s just one storage option for this latest Samsung Fold model. That solo trim has 16GB RAM and 1TB flash. Again, they want to sell it as an exclusive luxury phone, so you get the best variant. The original is already way too expensive, so we can only imagine what this new version would cost.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the thinnest foldable out there, and we expect the exact weight and thickness on the W27. It's possibly 8.9mm thin (folded) at 215 grams. The battery inside it would be 5000mAh again. The wired charging speed would be 45W, and almost half that for the wireless input.
The inner dynamic AMOLED is 8", and the outer cover display is 6.5”. They don’t match in size, but at least the specs are similar. Both are HDR10+ LTPOs at 3000 nits, but only the inner AMOLED has an anti-reflective coating. W27 would also get Android 17 from first boot.
The selfies are 10MP each, and the main camera is 200MP. The zoom camera is just a 10MP telephoto, and the Ultrawide is 50MP. It couldn’t keep up with the iPhone Duo, which somehow got the IP68 rating. This one only has IP48. And of course, they put a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip on it. Samsung W27 could match the Z Fold 8 Ultra one-to-one, in theory. We’ll know its price tomorrow at launch. Keep watching the news.
