Design Of QMobile S6:
Noir S6 carries a colorful glossy plastic with a Matte finished golden back cover while the aluminium metal rim is sandwiched in between the S6’s beautifully crafted curves. The Mate finished plastic shell is unequally remarkable and also feels excellent in hands. The front of QMobile’s S6 incorporates a round fingerprint scanner instead of three android navigational keys.
On-screen navigation keys are a better way to interact with your phone though it takes a little time to get use to. QMobile Noir S6 comes with a high quality 4.59 inch HD IPS display. The screen is crisp and bright that looks amazing both indoor and outdoor. 720 x 1280 pixels in 4.6 inch display gives a pixel density of 320 ppi, which is more than enough for a phone of such mid-range segment. S6 offers better viewing angles at a very fine contrast. Sunlight readability is OK though.
Performance:
While many local competitors have moved to the snapdragon processors. QMobile has decided to to stick with MediaTek for S6 Noir. For the graphics of the new smartphone, QMobile is using Mali 400MP. Overall the Noired performance is quite reasonable at the given price tag.
The gaming performance was just OK and the casual games seem to run fine on the Noir S6, though some high-end games struggled while loading with lower frame rate. As for the benchmarks on Antutu 5, QMobile latest Noir S6 has managed to score 23’858 points.
Hardware:
QMobile S6 is a dual SIM phone so you can use two network simultaneously. If the provided 16 GB of storage is not enough or you then a dedicated micro SD card slot is also provided on the rear below below the back cover.
The new QMobile only supports 3G, however the call quality of Noir seemed quite good. The loudspeaker quality is not up to the mark but still it is loud enough. S6 comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner instead of a home button. While testing we found it to be fairly accurate and fast. Its really a great pleasure to see a fingerprint reader on this device, as not a single competitor is offering this feature at this price range. The handset carries the same old micro USB instead of the USB Type C that means you don’t have to purchase new cables. Single speaker on the bottom of QMobile Noir S6 is reasonably loud while playing music. The sound get distorted at higher volumes but it certainly does its job.
Battery:
Probably the most annoying component in Noir S6 is its battery at merely 2500 mAh. Being able to provide an average stand-by life, the battery on QMobile S6 should have been a bit bigger to achieve some respectable stand-by and talk times. Still the battery on the new QMobile is better than majority of the competitors and can easily provide you with a stand by time of one and half day with normal use.
Camera:
QMobile Noir S6 comes with a 13 MP back camera that also carries a powerful LED flashlight. It provide pretty good performance for the phone’s price. Though the image lacks the dynamic range required for high contrast scenes, it offers just about the right amount of saturation with excellent color reproduction. Not only that but S6 also carries a 5 MP front facing camera that lets you shot some beautiful selfies in low light conditions.
Software:
Android 6.0 Marshmallow is breathing inside the Noir S6 by QMobile which is very easy to navigate as per your will. As the screen wakes up, you’ll find a stylish app drawer that shows up along the shortcut icons. You can easily customize the home screen and preset the app drawer applications. A bunch of themes and wallpapers comes pre-installed to furnish your phone’s home screen. If these are not well enough for you, you can always install more themes on your phone from the play store. Menu bar is equipped with all the necessary shortcuts and features but still the “Power is yours” as you have the ultimate authority to customize it further.
Conclusion:
QMobile S6 is now available in Pakistan at 13,500/- which is is comparatively outstanding considering the features such as fingerprint scanner and 13 megapixel camera. The S6 Noir packs massive punch for its price with its iPhone like design, fingerprint reader, and exceptional software experience. However, it lacks battery juice, 4G LTE and provides an average gaming performance. If you’re okay without a stylish design and fingerprint reader, QMobile Noir S6 is the best fit for you. Otherwise, QMobile LT700 Pro is also a good option, for a bit more. You’ll be getting much better RAM, better performance, and a better camera.
