An official launch date was confirmed for the Nothing Phone (4b), and right then and there, the company revealed the phone’s design as well. There were teasers and a video clip as well. The graphic renders are fine, but nothing beats the real-life preview. Someone on X got their hands on the Phone (4b) and shared the hands-on photos.
The internet’s taking special interest in two of the photos. But we’ll get to that later. The phone looks exactly as its CGI counterpart from the teasers, except that the leaker has exposed all three colors. There’s a Blue version, of course, and then there are Black and White shades.
The camera island part, which is snapped across the entire upper half of the Nothing new B model, is actually transparent. And the bottom half is a matte-finish plastic or glass panel that has much in common with CMF Phones. There’s nothing interesting going on in the bottom section.
The upper half is where two lenses are located, and a flash as well. Nothing has let go of the Glyph-style LED strips. The Phone (4b) actually has a simple LED bar now. There’s possibly a third camera on it, but it could just be a depth mapper. The set had two photos with the device's About section on display. This confirmed most of its key specs.
The status of the device is right in the name. It’s ranked somewhere below the Nothing Phone (4a). And the performance is exactly what you would expect. It’s a 5G phone. And this newcomer is built around a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, which is a midrange 2.3GHz engine.
The main camera would be 50MP OIS. And the camera next to it is 8MP, probably an Ultrawide lens. Then comes the selfie snapper at the front, which is a 16MP outsole sitting in a punch-hole cutout. It’s all run-of-the-mill hardware seen on many budget phones.
They’ll put a 6.7” AMOLED on it. The Phone (4b) might put a 6000mAh cell at the center to relay power, though the charging backup hasn’t come up in any leaks so far. July 7th is the launch date. We’ll have its price, availability, and the rest of the spec sheet soon. Keep watching the news for updates.
