Apple’s next budget phone is launching in April. Leaks surrounding this third-generation iPhone SE have been conflicting. A tweet recently detailed the phone’s design and specifications named it iPhone SE Plus. However, a set of new concept renders reveal an entirely different look.
The authenticity of the report isn’t guaranteed since the source is relatively unknown. But the iPhone SE 3 mockups published by Svetapple, a European magazine, show a radical redesign.
Apple might finally be ready to ditch the unsightly notch for a cleaner hole-punch. iPad Mini 6 was recently leaked, featuring a similar layout. FaceID is also gone since the wedge-shaped notch is used to house a whole array of sensors for the face unlocking feature. It’ll be replaced with TouchID, embedded in the side-facing power button — much like the latest iPad Air.
In a similar vein, the new iPhone SE 3 borrows the flat edges from Apple’s most recent design language. We’re shown a clean, angled slab with a single camera on the back. No word on the iPhone prices yet but the camera sensors are said to be improved. It reportedly has a 12MP sensor inside with a wide f/1.6 lens. We’re also promised a leap in photography performance over the last-generation.
Plus, the 4.7” LCD has been replaced with a 5.4” OLED panel that’s not just sharper but also produces more accurate colors than its predecessor. A tweaked version of the A14 Bionic chip, which uses an LTE modem, powers the iPhone SE 3.
And it’ll be available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. Svetapple puts the expected starting price for the base variant at $499 (~ Rs. 79,999). However, in Pakistan after adding taxes it could end up retailing somewhere around Rs. 109,000 to 119,000 PKR.
